CHESSINGTON DISTRICT RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION

2017

------------------------------------------

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

THIS  YEAR WAS ON TUESDAY 27TH JUNE  7:30pm

(NOTE REVISED DATE - PREVIOUSLY THURS 29TH)

AT  THE METHODIST CHURCH HALL,   MOOR LANE,   CHESSINGTON   KT9 2DJ

OUR SPEAKER WAS BE  CHARLIE  (CHARLOTTE)  ADAN  -   THE NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER FOR KINGSTON COUNCIL

who told us about her role in RBK - as being in charge of all 'paid' staff

It always helps if residents understand what and why changes happen.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are no trains  fon the Chessington Line  from 5th to 28 August.    Rail replacement buses run to Worcester Park  (some non-stop from Chessington North in the peak hours).  Here is a link to the temporary timetable (Mon - Fri only,  weekends is pot luck)  :

The alternative is Surbiton  (temporary timetable as above but put 08 in place of 05).   BUT Hook road is closed both directions for gas works just north of the Shell garage from 3rd August for about 2 weeks,  with 71 etc presumably diverted via Tolworth.     Don't believe what you hear about "no effect on Hook and Chessington" - there'll be long queues at Tolworth so a LONG bus journey in the peak hours.

Our residents association is a voluntary, non political organisation working for the residents of Hook and Chessington.   The aim of the association is to ensure that residents have a strong and meaningful voice on matters that have an impact on their community.

In these pages you will be able to see the work of the executive committee through minutes of monthly meetings and be able to voice your own opinions on issues that affect you by contacting us.   Our monthly meetings are held in the St Paul’s Centre, next to St Paul’s Church, Hook, on the first Tuesday evening of each month at 8 o’clock.

From time to time there will be the opportunity to take part in, for example, discussions on topics ranging from contentious planning applications to speeding and pollution along the A243; waste disposal is another issue that has reared its ugly head and will need to be dealt with in the very near future.

Most of all it is a site that will enable you to see what is going on in the local area that affects us all.

Please feel free to contact the Association at any time through the link on this page.
