We read about the approval of this new development on the Kingston Society website. We are hopeful that new development will bring much new business and many new jobs to our community.

A substantial redevelopment project at Cox Lane and Davis Road on Chessington Industrial Estate has been approved by Kingston Council’s planning committee. The proposal (application 23/03542/FUL) involves the demolition of all existing buildings on the 1.39-hectare site, making way for seven state-of-the-art industrial and logistics units with a total floorspace of 9,633 square metres.

The current buildings were deemed unsuitable for current industrial uses and thus earmarked for modernisation. According to the Kingston Society’s news story, the planning committee’s report states that the site’s existing structures, many of which are vacant or underutilised, no longer meet the operational needs of modern occupiers. The proposed development aims to introduce flexible industrial space catering to a wide range of industries.
