Run by carers for carers, KMHCF offers information and advice to all those voluntarily supporting someone experiencing mental health difficulties.

If you – or someone you know – provides care or support for someone with a mental health difficulty, joining the Forum may be a huge help.

The Forum provides a range of support, from access to one-to-one advice and signposting to a monthly carers’ support group to share experiences. The Forum also provides an opportunity to have a say in the future shape of service provision to meet your needs as a carer. By joining, you will receive updates on new or proposed services and initiatives, too.

Membership is free, and you can choose how much to get involved.

Kingston Mental Health Carers’ Forum (KMHCF) was formed 22 years ago, when several mental health carer groups existed around Kingston but operated independently. They had many ideas that needed to be collected together.

Carers came to the decision that a single Forum would best serve their purposes. Constructive input could then be formulated and presented to statutory services as a contribution towards improving mental health services in the borough. KMHCF is a registered charity and run entirely by volunteers with lived experience of caring.
