Community petition calling for restrictions on heavy goods vehicles
Heavy lorries are increasingly using the A243 through Malden Rushett and Chessington, creating congestion, safety risks and environmental impacts on a route never designed for vehicles of this size. Our petition calls for these HGVs to remain on the M25 until Junction 10 – a junction recently upgraded to handle high‑volume traffic – before travelling north via the A3 underpass at the Ace of Spades, which already accommodates vehicles of this height. This is a practical, safer alternative that would protect our community.
